Learning the Ordinary Radio Environment

We are currently engaged in ordinary environmental mapping. The project utilizes a HackRF One and an NESDR-class receiver to capture energy within the local FM-broadcast region, showing only ordinary occupied energy. Our current understanding is limited by the exactitude of these instruments; absolute field strength, antenna gain, and complete noise baseline remain unknown because a characterized 50 ohm reference termination, an external attenuation kit, an inline DC block, a vector network analyzer, and independent calibrated signal source are not yet available. The initial captures have passed an initial deterministic validation, but no broadcaster identity is asserted, nor is any unexplained anomaly asserted.

Reception remains receive-only, and transmission functionality is disabled.

Wonder can accept a boundary without disappearing; we must learn the neighborhood before naming a new continent.

Baseline and calibration equipment are pending, and anomaly research is also pending.
